Naia Ormaza Zulueta
PhD Student
I’m a PhD candidate at the Environmental Studies department based at University of Colorado Boulder, working with supervisors Zia Mehrabi and Steve Miller, as a member of the Better Planet Lab and the PEEP Lab, respectively. I am currently a Visiting International Research Student at the LUGE lab based at UBC. My research is aimed at analysing environmental human rights, its violations across different dimensions (e.g., clean air, safe climate) and potential intersections across different inequality dimensions. I particularly focus on our right to a safe climate, analysing heat stress exposure patterns in present and future across different subpopulations; and our right to live, play and work in non-toxic environments.
Before starting my PhD, I completed a joint B.Sc. in Physics and Electronic Engineering at the University of the Basque Country. I then pursued a M.Res. in Models and Methods of Quantitative Economics at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. My skills are primarily focused on quantitative approaches, which I apply to my current research projects. I have collaborated with both for profit and non-profits that collided with my research during my PhD.
Feel free to contact me at [email protected]: I’m always happy to discuss research and explore new ideas!
