Erika Luna Perez

Erika Luna was a MSc student at the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability (IRES) co-supervised by Dr. Navin Ramankutty and Dr. Amanda Giang. She holds a BSc in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
Thanks to a variety of awards she obtained during her undergraduate studies, Erika was able to do research internships at different universities across North America, such as: Université de Montréal, UC Berkeley, UNAM and UBC. These past research experiences contributed to build her passion on data science and food security. Her project at both LUGE and LEAP labs is focused on the relationship between food security and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
