Alfie Brazier

MSc Student

Alfie is an MSc student at the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability, and is supervised by Prof. Navin Ramankutty. His research is aimed at using data science to model and predict the impacts of climate change on agriculture.
Alfie completed his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the University of Oxford where he subsequently worked as a research assistant at the Department of Psychology building virtual reality based experiments, and developing secure servers for running remote experiments with participants in their homes. As a research assistant at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, University of Tasmania, Alfie created a machine learning model to reengineer satellite records of Antarctic sea ice melt using proxy data from Antarctic ice cores.
